RfG Regulation

Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631 establishing a network code on grid connection requirements for power-generating modules sets out harmonized connection rules for power-generating modules. The Code defines four categories or "types" A-D of power generators based on the maximum capacity of the power-generating module and its connection voltage level.

Regulation 2016/631 sets out requirements that help to maintain, protect and restore system security in order to support the proper functioning of the internal electricity market both within synchronous areas and between synchronous areas.

Data exchange

The "Data sheet for grid connection of generation plants and storage facilities" was developed by the German transmission system operators 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, Amprion GmbH, TenneT TSO GmbH and TransnetBW GmbH. It is used to collect the data required to assess a grid connection request and to carry out simulation calculations and fulfills the requirements of Article 41 (3) of the RfG (EU 2016/631) with regard to transparency in data exchange. The grid connection data sheet for generation plants and storage systems must be submitted in addition to the completed Annex E of VDE-AR-N 4130.
