In accordance with Sections 10 and 11 of the EnFG, German transmission system operators are obliged to calculate the KWKG levy for the following calendar year in a transparent manner and to publish it by October 25 of the calendar year.
KWKG levy effective January 1, 2027
Based on the forecast values reported by the subordinate network operators and the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA), the expected charges were identified in accordance with the current KWKG and EnFG, and the KWKG levy applicable nationwide for the forecast final consumption was determined and published on October 26, 2026. In accordance with the provisions of the EnFG, revenues and expenditures in the KWKG account are also taken into account when calculating the KWKG levy.
In summary of the above data, this results in a rounded KWKG levy of 0.451 ct/kWh on non-privileged end-use consumption starting January 1, 2027.
